  • Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public Comment

The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office is seeking public comments on the office’s application for grant funding for the Fiscal Year 2010 Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program.

The Sheriff’s Office plans to utilize these funds to obtain a second Internet Service Provider (ISP) connection to provide redundancy for not only our internet traffic and email, but also our mobile CAD system running in all our vehicles as well as the Virtual Private Network (VPN) tunneling to satisfy our employees ability to work from home in the event of a pandemic event, which is part of our COOP.

In prior years the Sheriff’s Office has purchased disaster recovery equipment, Latent Print Station, Crime Scene Laboratory and other investigative tools with JAG funding. All of the funds are used to reduce crime and improve public safety.

We welcome your comments on our application for the grant funding. Please call 407-665-6761, Monday through Friday, between 8:00am and 5:00pm with any comments.

  • The Civilian Review Board of the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office will meet in the First Floor Community Room at the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office Administration Building on Thursday, May 27, 2010, at 6:30 p.m..
  • The SCSO Secure, Restricted Law Enforcement Web Site has been closed and is no longer available.
  • The Sheriff has approved the qualification of retired law enforcement officers on the Seminole Community College Range by our instructors. The qualification will be the FDLE 40 round course as prescribed by FDLE in order to satisfy the Law Enforcement Officer's Safety Act of 2004 (LEOSA), otherwise known as HB 218.
